Hi, im really bnew here.

Im planning to finally replace my Smith m459 with perhaps a sig. Operating in my country we are faced with extremely rainy (and sweaty) conditions. In addition to this my particular area is also not exempt of coastlines and salt marshes. I am very interested with the p226 combat's phosphated innards feature, but I also think a P229 elite dark TB is more ideal for my requirements because this stone it hits 3 birds (tactical work, concealed carry and ipsc production); and i think black is beautiful.

Anyone knows if the elite dark also has this feature w/ internal parts? or is it standard on all 226/229s? or is it limited to the "combat" models? or maybe if they offer it as a custom option for other models?

Also, does anyone know if it is possible to (or has actually tried) to order a customized sig pistol with mixed features other than what's offered? (ex. a p229 E2 with siglite adjustable sights and a threaded barrel, or a standard 229 with a TB) they seem to try to create a pistol for everyone but they really weren't able to include me!

Thanks a million!

No custom pistols from Sig.

The phosphated internals go back to the Sig p226 Navy IIRC. It is also available on the Combat P226 but no other models IIRC.

thanks. oh how i wish i could let them build me a "P229 combat TB" !!!

The coating you are talking about is parkerizing. You can send out parts to be parkerized from any pistol. If you can't get a specialty Sig, you can have your current pistol or any other pistol's parts disassembled and parkerized. You can even do the parkerizing yourself using materials from http://www.brownells.com/

My guess is anything made of steel that you can disassemble that already doesn't have a coating. I don't have a Sig so I don't know much about the internals.
