Maybe you guys can shed some light on this for me. I was just looking on SIG's website and they have the SP 2022 listed on their new products page. I wanted to buy one of these back in March and I was told they must have been discontinued because my local store couldn't get them. I bought one used and its a great gun. Is SIG bringing them back? I may get another one if they are. Here is the link to their new products page. http://www.sigsauer.com/products/ShowCatalogNewProduct.aspx

The SP 2022 is a new iteration of the Sig Pro. The 2022 I have has "Sig Pro" on the grip and I believe it will be the same on those other people here have as well.
I believe the gun is established and is here for the long haul -- atleast as much as any other model they have. It's a good and often under rated gun.
Some people don't care for it because of the polymer frame but I think that is a matter of personal taste.
As for where it is on the Sig site ...yeah, it's "new." Don't YOU always want the NEWEST thing?
It's probably just there as a sales gimmick.

This was just posted on SIG's facebook page.

"The SP2022 is now part of SIG SAUER’s U.S. production
line in 9mm, .40 S&W and .357 SIG. These pistols come with an
interchangeable backstrap, 15+1 (9mm) or 12+1 capacity (.40 and .357 SIG), a
Nitron finish and the reliability of a SIG SAUER."

I guess this means they are going to be bringing it back into stores. I haven't seen one around Tampa for almost 8 months now so hopefully they will be here soon. I have one in 9mm but want another in 40 cal.

They are back for production.
We have received three direct from sig, quality doesnt appear to be any less than before.
Small black hard case, similar to a mosquito. One mag (No surprise there)
My only quirk or real noticeable difference is the decocker is shaped much differently from previous guns, and is now stamped, not milled. Or cast or whatever.
