You know what may be neat, take the best of the DA/SA and DAK system and merge them.

In other words, a 6.5 lb LONG first shot trigger and then single action the rest of the magazine. With a trigger pull this long, you don't need a super heavy pull weight to achieve safety.

I've never liked the standard 15+ lb DA triggers on my DA/SA Sigs. And as the DAK trigger goes, it is nice but the long pull gets tiring after a while.

Not sure if this is feasible, but it would seem to be a compromise.

Try Wolff main springs

...

Not sure about all Sig models, but my Sig P229/40, acc to Sig, the mainspring DA/SA weight from the factory is 24lb..

Other than putting 3000 plus rounds out a DA/SA trigger to get it to become lighter and smoother, one can, as I did, call Wolff springs, and get the main spring package of: 20lb, 19, 18, 17lb, 16lb main springs and replace the factory main spring with one of these weights that both, satisfies one's much lighter, faster (and smoother) DA pulls. In my guns case, I liked the 17lb main spring and, after 500 rounds (no light strikes), gave it a vote of confidence and that flawless (no light strikes) continues with some 3000 more rounds fired using that much lighter main spring, as of today.

Other than that, as mentioned above, send it off to Grey Guns, is another option

just for clarity and accuracy's sake...it's Grayguns Inc

it is nice but the long pull gets tiring after a while

if you don't like the long trigger stroke, don't use it...there is a shorter reset after the first shot

I don't think you understand the purpose of the DAK system

The purpose of the DAK is that the trigger pull will be repeatable each time, this is the reason that the Department of Homeland Security went with the Sig 229 DAK. There are no safeties to worry about, and the threat of an accidental discharge is greatly lessened because of the long trigger pull. Consistency is the key, so the operator knows what to expect everytime.

Check out HK's LEM trigger. Its just about exactly what you're describing. I've never been a big fan of HK's DA/SA trigger but the LEM is the cats meow! If you hold the trigger back after firing, the hammer stays back and there's a very short reset. If you release the trigger the hammer returns forward and you're back to a long first pull. Very nice!
