At what distance do you like to shoot for adjusting your handgun sights? I do most of my target practice and sight tweaking at 50'. Any advantages to using a shorter or longer distance?

The further the better, within reason.

50 yards is not out of the question with flat shooting calibers like the .357.

25 yards is good for most auto-pistols.

It is easier to detect sight mis-alignment of a few clicks at longer ranges then it is up close.

I sight in at 25 yards, and practice regularily out to 50. Almost any gun with any shooter can knock the center out of a target to 10 yards- you don't get anything truly representative until you start to open range up a little.

i have to agree, you really need to back up to at least 25 yards to make meaningful adjustments to handgun sights. i sioght in at 25 yards and confirm at 50 yards
