One of the reasons I prefered the Sightron S1 scopes over the similarly priced Nikons was because Sightron was made in Japan instead of the Phillipines. Now I see that some of the new S1 scopes are being made there too. I must say I am disappointed by this, as I have found the build quality of Japanese optics to exceed that of Phillipino gear.

Are all of the new Sightrons being made there or are some of the higher end ones still being made in Japan? Anyone know?

AFAIK, the SI, SII, and Big Sky scopes have been made in the Philippines for a few years now, and the SIII's in Japan.
