Anyone have experience with Sightron scopes? I'm in the market for a new scope for a 6mmBR, not for use in bench rest shooting, but for varmints and fairly long range paper. Maybe once in a blue moon, I would try an informal competitive shoot. I'm kind of leaning towards Sightron, due to the fact that I believe they may be one of the best values in a quality scope for me. I am an FFL and can buy them at wholesale. I'm feeling that the Nightforces, US Optics and Vortex's may not be as good of a value for me due to that fact. I realize that I may get some posts recommending these, as well as Leupold, but I have considered them and feel that I want to totally rule out Sightron before reconsidering
I'm thinking 6-24X, possibly 8-32. I'm not sure if I should go with a dot, mil, or MOA reticle. I'm also leaning towards their SIII line. I believe, but not certain, that they are all first focus. I am wondering if at the lower powers, just how fine the reticles are and the ability to see them clearly, as well as the apparent size at high magnification.
I have spoken to their tech guys on the phone, checked out reviews online, and spent a bunch of time on their web site and still find myself a bit confused and undecided. Unfortunately, no one seems to have any on hand to check out, probably due to their expense and diverse line.
I'm kind of lost and would appreciate any comments.
