I am looking for new night sights for a Glock. I'd rather have faster target acquisition than super long range paper accuracy. I have long arms and with most sights I think there isn't enough space around the front sight for quick target acquisition.

I currently like the Ameriglo iDot pro with the Lime-Lumi front and .180 rear notch. I will probably get these if I can find them in stock. Before I do, does any other manufacturer make sights with an even wider ( >.180 ) rear sight?

( I don't think a thinner front sight is available with tritium insert )

Has anyone ever tried filing the rear notch to make it wider?

PS. I have tried Big Dots and don't really want them again.

A bright, easy to find front dot sight is partly the reason why the XD-S is so popular. Upgraded sights on a factory pistol. Tritium is great unless you are on a tight budget. If money is an issue I would recommend Fiber optic or hi-viz sights.

.115 front fibre optic and .150 plain rear notch is by far my favorite Glock setup. Lightening fast and accurate. I practice hitting Gatoraide bottles at 30yards.

A .125" front Tritium sight needs at least a .156 rear. .180 would be sweet, but I haven't tried one yet. I make sure my nighttime CCW is allways 4"+ barreled.

Nice idea Zerodefect! THANKS

I currently have a G19, but I see your point. A longer sight radius would accomplish the same thing optically. Maybe a G17 for night duty would be a better choice for me?

I had a G22 with Ameriglo Pro Operator( 3 dot, rear outline white, front outline Orange) I found these to have Ample space between rear notch and front width. I estimate available space enough for two front widths when sighting. The orange outline really gets you attn quick.
