I am trying to convince the Democrats in Olympia to pass bill 1604 and allow silencer use in Washington State. I made a video that might convince some of those kooks that silencers are in fact not illegal to possess in the United States.

And some other stuff I shot while in Vegas.

Very clear and well-spoken vid, hope it makes a change and thanks for sharing with us.

Ranb, that was an AWESOME C-17. As for the suppressors, educating people about anything usually makes them think rationally, so my fingers are crossed for you.

I want to see a Nagant Revolver shot with one of the high end Silencers like a Silencerco Osprey. Shouldn't even cover up the front sight!

That is a good idea. I am going to make an offset can for my Winchester model 94 someday. It would work very well on the 1895 nagant.

Where were the vid's shot at ? Boulder City Rifle Club ?

Disregard... saw it in the video....

just a thought , you should make sure you are following all the range rules if you are going to use your vids to make a statement.

BRPC range rules state :
http://www.brpc1.org/saftey.htm

f. Targets must be twenty four inches from the ground an no more than seven feet high.

iii. Do not place targets on ground or concrete curbs.

Shooting the spinners from that close to the concrete curbs , damages the curb over time.

Using my 22-250 without a suppressor is ludicrously painful. When i first got it i shot two rabbits and my ears rang for two days. I didn't shoot it again until i had sonic ear plugs, which are annoying to use. I'm planning on getting a good suppressor for that very reason. Lots of people use them here in New Zealand.

Just a bit of advice you might want to stress just how loud a high power rifle with a suppressor still is, as it sounds pretty quiet on the video. People unrealistically envisioning silent snipers might be a little scared of that.

You may also want to point out early on in your video which other countries promote noise suppressor use to protect the hearing of the the hunter/shooter and to reduce the noise to the public.

Other then Finland, I do not have good sources of info. I have conflicting info on New Zealand and England. While I know they are legal, whether or not they are encouraged over there I do not know.

Just as there are in the USA, I'm sure there are some gun owners overseas that condemn them and law makers that claim they are illegal to own.
