I have an 8.5” SBR in .300 Blk. I also have and Octane9 and Octane45. White are your recommendations with regards to muzzle brakes, pistons/mounts, and which of the suppressors to use? I do not believe it is recommended to use the suppressors as they are with the pistons in them; therefore, what brake/mounting combo is best? Am I correct in that I should only fire sub-sonics through my Octanes as they are pistol cans? Thanks?

You can get a piston spacer or direct thread mount for the Octane. You don't want to use them on a carbine with the sprung piston.

Either will be fine with .300 Blk subs, but I wouldn't run supers through them. Too much pressure.

Definitely don’t run supersonic .300 BLK through an octane, you’ll likely blow the endcaps off. The 9 is closer in bore diameter to .30 than the .45 is, so theoretically it will perform a little better. Since both cans share the same mounts, why not test both and let us know the results? :)
