i keep my nickle plated brass strictly for hunting ammo. i work up loads using standard brass, then use it in my nickel plated brass (of course working it up checking it for pressure). it feeds better in lousy conditions, wont tarnish, so if it is around for a few years it doesnt matter (i seal the bullets and primers on all my hunting loads). and, since it typicly will not last as long (reloading cycles) i can keep it around for years with realitivly low usage cycles.

I use nickle plated cases in 280,i never had them flake. i had them for over 10 years,,and reloaded them no less then 7 times.no flakes no spits,Only problem i have is they are harder to resize, seems it take more torque on the ram arm to size.
I have a old grey lyman C type press,Maybe i need a heavier or bigger press,

What's really nice about nickle- especially in rifle cases- is that the brass rats that frequent the ranges I go to will scoop up all the brass cases, but the nickle cases must look like the steel Russian stuff and they leave them behind. It's always nice to go to the range and come home with a fat handful of nickle 30-06 or .308 brass.
