Silver tip ammo

The original Winchester silvertip ammo sold several years ago was a standard jacketed bullet with a canulure groove and with the tip covered with a thin aluminum shield. I've shot whitetail with them and they shoot good and expland as intended. I have several boxes of 100 grain 25 caliber and 130 grain 270 caliber for reloading. Anyone can send me a message if they are interested in buying some at a good price. Shooter
Taking a shot in the dark, do you still have the .25 100 grain Silvertips available? Thanks.

Wow. Lots of folks not reading through the thread before posting a reply.

Just to throw my .02 in, I have used an FMJ on deer one time, when I was very young, out of ignorance. We lived in a very rural area, I was home alone, saw a deer out back, grabbed my 742 and the first cartridge I found that would work in my rifle, which my dad later pointed out was from a belt of surplus machine Gun ammo someone had given him. I assume it was 147gr M80?

Anyhow I shot the doe at about 80 yards through the shoulders, and she made several hundred yards through very thick brush, leaving practically no blood before piling up.

My dad was not pleased.

Using a silver tip fmj is just going to punch rite through and not make that big of a wound
