does anybody know where i can buy, what is probably an obsoete bullet, some winchester 180 grain silvertip bullets. they do not list them in their reloading components, and i have even written winchester (snail mail) with no response. at one time, i would think, this was probably available for reloaders. i know thare are lots of other choices out there, but none with that nostalgia. my dad used them (300 holland & holland mag.) and i bought a few boxes of them for my 300 win mag before they discontinued loading them. we both shot and killed several deer (my dad shot way more) and they worked just great. my brother now has the h&h and we both would like to replentish our supply of these. winchester still loads this bullet in 30-06, but i would hate to buy boxes of them, just to pull the bullets. my brother nor i own an -06 so we would be stuck with a bunch of unuseable brass. besides, it would probably ruin an impact bullet puller to pull 40 or more factory crimped bullets. thanks, d.s.

Cabelas has them. If you just want the bullet components nosler makes a line of silvetip as well.

AS i learned the silvertip bullets that winchester makes are not even silver tip. they are aluminum foil covered. Check there web site. There isnt an ounce of silver or less in any of there bullets.

i checked out cabela's, the ones they have are the "NEW" NOSLER/WINCHESTER polycarbonate style, i am looking for the ORIGINAL WINCHESTER "aluminum" tipped silvertips. i hope that somebody has some laying around, or knows where to get these antiques! thanks, d.s.

Have you tried Old Western Scrounger? I would bet if anyone knew, it would be them.

AS i learned the silvertip bullets that winchester makes are not even silver tip.

That explains why I couldn't take down those werewolves with Silvertips.
