I just got a Ruger Speed Six 2.75"bbl.
Just curious if the concensus is that it would fit better in an L frame holster or a K frame holster?

Would the K just be a tad too tight, or you think I could pull it off?

Would the underlug make a difference? I know most of the L frame holsters for the 3" L frame guns are relieved for full underlug. If the K frame holsters are not, I wonder if the partial underlug of the Speed Six would make trouble.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

This and thisare the holsters I'm looking at. I've had great experience with the Desantis Scabbard line. I want to keep things consistent.

I've got a 2.75" service six that carries just fine in a Bianchi 3S Pistol Pocket for a K-frame. If you don't mind nearly an inch of barrel sticking out of the bottom, a 4" service six works fine also. Currently, a 3" Model 13 is in the holster. I'd avoid kydex holsters unless it's specifically molded for the speed/service six -- I can't bring myself to put a revolver in kydex anyway.

Good luck

I have a couple of Ruger 6s. L frame holsters are way too big. The only K frame holsters you may have a problem with is security type holsters where something has to lock. Holsters that have a thumb snap or safety strap are fine. I've found 2 1/2" k frame holsters work well with the 2 3/4 Speed Six.

I like the DeSantis Speed Scabbard without the strap.
