A few days ago I was taking pictures of recent compact gun purchases.
I thought it might be of interest to anyone thinking of getting one of these guns.
All 9mm.

S&W Shield....CZ RAMI
Bersa BP9cc....Ruger LC9
Beretta NANO

Yes the definition of "compact" varies a bit for sure. My "compact" 1911 is only compact when compared to a full sized 1911.

It looks like you have one for each ankle, one for each hip and one for a fanny pack
Yeah, there's no doubt I should stay out of the gun store.
What's worse is I usually buy several of the guns I like.
2 Shields. 9mm and 40 S&W.
3 Ruger LC9
2 NANO

:D

Great comparison! That is really helpful. The CZ RAMI doesn't seem to be too much bigger than the other sub compacts, but being a double stack, I suspect it is a bit wider.

The Rami is definitely wider. CZ [if they want to be competetive] needs to produce a thinner compact gun . . . . in quickly! Hopefully a DA/SA though.

I think a single stack, sub compact CZ is in the works from what I infer from another poster here.

Pilot, I truly hope so. I'm good with the XDs I have, but not to where I'd like to be. Hopefully CZ will come out with it soon! I DO hope it is in at least 9mm, though. I know CZ makes some mouse caliber handguns that aren't currently available in the US.

Sub-Compacts? Some of them, certainly.

I sometimes (mistakenly) view "compact" and "sub-compact" as broader terms to mean anything smaller than a full-size gun. I find it hard to consider a 9mm, .40, or .45 subcompact a mousegun, however.

The chart above may NOT BE what the OP really wanted, in which case my apologies -- but it is a good chart to know about and have for later reference.

Wouldn't most of those be classified as "sub-compacts"?
Yes some.
The line between compact and sub-compact can get a little blurred. For instance Beretta calls the smallest PX4 a sub-compact but it's a big hunk of gun.

Now such as the Ruger LCP is definitely smaller than a compact.

Go with the Kahr, PM9, it's superior to the other guns mentioned, having had most If not all of them, they each have their own special annoyances. the Shield was not that small or light, and mine in 40 dropped mags, the LC9 had the most wobble in a trigger I ever saw, I even called Ruger on it and they explained that the gun had problems seizing under rapid fire so they left the gap there on purpose, "even with the RTK "Galloway trigger" it became unreliable due to the flimsy trigger spring, the Rami, "I never owned" but had a lot of unhappy owners complaining of ftf's and that was enough for me. The Bursa is way too big and not enough street time, the Beretta is a nice gun the PX4, but again way to big and heavy. I like the Nano, but some say it also has feeding problems. The Glock 26 is the perfect gun if your criteria is something that works every time you require it to.But the PF9 is the perfect size and comes in loaded with 6 +1 at 20 ozs.The rest are all heavier except the Ruger. "Nothing fancy", calls the PF9 the perfect concealed carry gun in 9mm, and carries one himself, I mentioned this someplace else only because anyone who has tried every gun out there and can carry any of them, has chosen this one.
The lc9 does function fine if you don't mind the trigger, I still would like to try the Nano, the Shield is ok in 9mm from everything I read, the 40 is the problem, although it is still larger than the lc9 in the pocket. I can't find anything wrong with the Kahr, and my first one "when they came out 18 or so yrs. ago, was a bomb", I think it was a MK or P9, It fired one round at a time. But the new one works great, I have fired everything I had in the drawer through it and it hasn't hiccupped. I ran 5 mags used and new, and no problems, It does bite a bit, but they all do depending on your grip and tolerance. If you want the smallest most reliable 9 I have seen it's the Kahr, I only carry that or the glock 26. I would try the XDS in 9mm as I carry it's 45 caliber cousin also. For the weight difference you may as well carry the 45 as there is none. The good thing with the Xds is you can throw a light on it and use the extended mag, and you have a full sized gun if you need it.
Everyone is different and some like a gun that an other doesn't care for. I always like to see for myself, but most times I am disappointed in what the actual gun is like compared to the hype. Let's face it, if it works for you then it's terrific. I just want to make sure when that day comes around again, I have the best chance of it going bang every time I pull the trigger. Many have disappointed me on that front. Glock always delivered for me, and the xd series also. Kahr is a pleasant surprise so far, had mine apart today and it is well made, the outside is not impressive, but they make it right where it counts.

Oh man...if they do a thin RAMI or subcompact CZ-75, that will probably be enough for me to retire the PA-63.

Well, I got out the calipers, and it turns out that my PA-63 is 1.25" across the stocks. Also apparently the empty weight of the two are very similar, PA-63 is 21 oz., RAMI is 25.4, although the CZ will go up way more with a full mag.

Still, time to start singing the "don't spend money" song to myself!!

"If you want the smallest most reliable 9 I have seen it's the Kahr"

The smallest most reliable I've seen is a Rohrbaugh R9.

Yes, it does cost more if that's a concern. I found mine slightly used at a dealer in early 2007 and saved a hundred or two.

Now here's a accurate, reliable little pistol that hasn't caught on. The Micro Desert Eagle. I don't even carry it much.

Standing, two hands at 50 yards. Missed once or twice because of aiming too low.

Kahr pm9

Consider this.

I tried the Beretta Nano and the Kahr PM-9 side by side and thought that for me the Kahr had the better feel and ergonomics to it. Thought the Shield was a bit larger than the Kahr and not that much smaller than the M&P Compact model. I had a KelTec PF-9 but didn't care for the overall feel and balance of the gun. No experience with the Bersa BP9CC or the CZ RAMI.

The Nano and Pico, "the new 380/32 from Beretta" ,come in colors, the Pico has purple white sand, along with green and black, the Nano also comes in a sand or earth color, along with the green and black. It's part of their marketing campaign along with a built in light or laser with the Pico, and probably with the Nano later on. The Pico will fire a 32 with a barrel change "from the factory", using the same mags as the 380. I would expect the Nano to come out with a 40 caliber soon, and possibly a 45 shortly there after.

What no Glock 26 anywhere? I'm shocked!
I have a Glock 26 and G33 (357 SIG) and G19 but I'm not a Glock fan.
If the need arose I might carry the G33, I'm impressed with the 357 SIG round.

The green "grip" on the Nano looks kinda cool.
I've never been a big fan of colored guns but I'm coming around. I bought the black Nano also but I do like the looks of the Green one better.
