sizeing jacketed bullets

has anyone here ever ran jacketed slugs through a sizeing die - specifically through a die .001 smaller? or is this even possible? results?
the intent is to run .311 slugs through a .310 sizer.
I've never had to size any slugs as the Lee mold 158gr WW cast slugs shoot fine in my .357 GP lubed well with ALOX.

I tried it once, for fun. I put Imperial wax on them and shoved them through the die (they were 357 I tried to sized down to 356 for 38 Super).

The brass jacket wanted to spring back, so they came out 357 again. So I went another .001 smaller and it worked. They miked at .356" from a 355 die. I did about 50, but several bullets resized off center. They were no longer concentric. You could see it at the base (they were fmj with exposed lead at the base). I don't know how you prevent that. But it's possible that these 158g bullets were to short to 'stabilize' in the die. Your longer rifle bullets might work OK.

Anybody else try it?

I have resized Berry plated bullets .357" to .355". in a Lyman Lubrisizer.
Worked fine with a spritz of case lube on them.

As ants said, it may not work so fine with jacketed bullets, as the jacket has more spring then the core.
You may end up with loose jackets, which would not help accuracy any.

thanks for the tips, I should have added that the slugs I've found for a .310 bore are limited to 123grs and I've tryed .311 (brit 303 and such) slugs in 150gr didn't do worth a crap this is Horn & Nosler.
particular nosler which I've had good luck (maybe best luck) with in everything else. anyone know of a supplier of 150gr jsp .310 slugs?

If the 150gr .311 bullet didn't work I'd be surprised if a 150gr .310 bullet would. What's the rifling twist rate?

Mini 30, 1-9. I've had good results with the Speer 150gr .308 spitzer but no go with any .311 slugs, thought I'd check about sizeing them to .310
