Does anyone know the dimensions for a magazine block for sks? I want to make it 5 rd legal for hunting. My bud can cut me a chunk of aluminum to throw in there. Another guy made one for me for my M1A and he said to drill and tap a set screw to hold it in place on 20 rd mag, Is this for legality issues (Michigan)? I really don't want to poke holes in the sks mag, seems to be fairly easy to just pop it open and drop it in there. TIA

I have one of the 5-round magazine blocks.
It came from D.C. Engineering when I ordered a bunch of SKS goodies from them. It's black plastic, trapezoidal, and probably cheaper for me just to mail it to you than try to measure all the dimensions and post them here.

Hey thanks Gewehr, I forgot about the angular slant of the bottom of sks mag. I would think that it would not be a true trapazoid, but have a angle at the bottom to match the mag. Probably be a good start if you could give me length, thickness and height at bigger angle end?
