I have posted a similar question in the gunsmithing area of this forum, however nobody seems to want to help me out, or they might not be able to. Either way my question is; is there a Ergo grip that you can buy for the Tapco stock for the sks? other than the one that is issued with said stock?

Hold on a minute, well 30.

You posted in Gunsmithing 28 minutes before this. Someone will be along in a little while that might know.

The one that comes with the Tapco stock is fitted to the contour, angle, and thread of the stock. I suppose you could get creative, talk to Tapco, and see if you can get a replacement for the screw that holds it on, and buy several aftermarket grips to see if you can fit them to that stock somehow. I use the supplied SAW grip and it's great. I keep the sight adjustment tools in the compartment, wrapped in plastic.

I did the Tapco compliance kit, Tech-Sights, thinner front sight post, a Kivaari trigger, a Tapco bolt, I cut off the bayonet assembly and put on a Magpul rail in the bayonet slot, a Magpul AFG, and a vertical grip with a bipod. The only part that really hasn't worked was the Tapco bolt, and maybe if I played with it, it would work better. But it didn't agree with the Kivaari trigger.

Next step; Duracoat in ACUpat.

I really like sks's and tend to follow posts about them. I've been on the high road for quite a while and can't recall ever hearing of a grip replacement involving a t-6 stock.

Yeah I havent found much either, I to have looked on here and found nothing I wonder if a Saiga grip would be comprable and or interchangeable seeing as how they look similar?

lol I never said I was gonna buy one or waste money on pointless ups, im a smart gun enthusiast, im going to do A LOT more research and talk to some local gunsmiths and see what I should do, and if need be ill just stick with the saw pistol grip, either way i'll be happy. I have other guns but this one is the least expensive to upgrade and pretty much the only one that needs to be.

Thank you for all the insight and i have no intention of selling said sks, it was a gift from my father who baught it from a gunsmith and has had trigger work and all kinds of other internal work done to the original bolt and trigger, i also have all matching parts on the gun at the moment, however as stated i have no intention of resale this is totally personal and all upgrades are only astetic and will only run me 2 bills, not really wasting money at all imho

And yes the wood stock is nice, just too heavy by todays standards for prolonged carry in the field.

Yup, go to sksboards.com there is a guy on there that took one of the hogue grips for an ak and modified it to work with the tapco stock. I have also seen people put hogue universal hand alls on there.

thanks tnxdsooter really appreciate that lead, ill certainly look into that, im going to see if i like the saw grip that comes with it before i decide what i want to do, because i may not even want to change it but i just want to be sure i have options to some degree.

That is totally understandable and I do not blame you one bit.
