SKS Question

The Factory 26 is also the only Chinese SKS where the date of manufacture can be reliably determined. Mine is a 1959, a year younger than I am.

Been years since I purchased any SKs's. They were in the 90 dollar category. 3 were Russian, one with a laminated stock and one Norinco. Gave the lam stock unit to my Son and sold the other two Russians off. Still have the Norinco. Kept it as it was the most accurate in my experience. The Chinese can build some good firearms. Best Mosin I had was China built.

ccsniper- Beautiful Russian you've got there...and a nice assortment of the SKS platform too.

I forgot to thank you for the compliment. I have since been looking for a yugo that is not over 400. I believe everyone should own at least one or two sks.

Hey, no worries, we're all here to learn stuff.

And the 922(r) rules are often pretty non-intuitive. Unless you've got the ATF letters in front of you, you really can't be sure you've got it figured out... :banghead:

The bold part of that statement....I gotta say, truer words were never spoken lol....922r is a freakin' cluster #@*$

I've read a lot about how 922r affects the buying, owning, selling, shooting & repair/modification of different rifle platforms & I gotta say, even after hours of study it's still confusing. You read one part & it doesn't jive with what the internet lawyers have said so you go back & re-read it & confuse yourself some more.

Edit: Oh yeah....get the Russian for a mere $50 more you can't go wrong. My $79 Norinco has been great & so has the one I bought my dad a few months later, but the Russian is the standard they're all judged by.
