I've had my SKS for a little over a year now, its a Yugo 59/66 in excellent condition, bought it for $150. These are great rifles, they are rugged, robust, reliable, built like tanks, and they are just plain fun. Mine will hold a 3" group out to 100 yards, the round is very effective out to 150 yards, it serves my purpose just fine. I mainly bought it for a fun range rifle and potential pest control on my property, I figure the SKS would do a number on a cyote. They are a blast.
The days of incredible gun-for-dollar value are becoming more and more distant, but it's still a good buy IMO. I enjoy my Romanian and will probably go ahead and get a Yugo before they go up too much more.
Get one! I had a Yugo and my father begged me to sell it to him until I gave in. Now I have 2 Chinese ones and like them better. A little more accurate and a lot lighter. But, they're all great. Again, get one!
