Anyone use slide glide or other grease on their Browning Hi Power? If you do, where to you put it?

I don't recommend any grease for any firearm. Grease has a tendency to harden over time and slows down the cycling of the action. Stick to the slide glide.

I use Break Free to lube everything except M1 Garands. There I use Mobil 1 red grease than doesn't harden.

I have used Phil Wood Grease, http://www.philwood.com/products/greaseoilhandcleaner/, on the rails and basically all contact points except fire control of all my guns. I have never had any problems at all. It does not glop up or harden. It also makes cleaning very easy. This is a very high quality grease, not your standard run of the mill auto parts grease. It's used mostly on high end bikes. I have also used Tri-Flow for the fire control parts for years. Neither of these have given me anything but great results.

not HP specific but i use grease on all firearms all the time, glocks, 1911's ak's, xd's, ar's. grease that i use is high temp lithium wheel bearing grease. oil migrates, grease stays put. as well carbon sticks to the grease and makes it easier to clean up. and a 1lb can of grease which is about $5 max, will last you a long long time.

I ONLY use slide glide on the moving parts of my autos.

Lithium-based products fall short. I love lithium for moderate temps and stresses, but rails on an auto loader hit much higher levels.

A word or two on Slide Glide...

Get a small paint brush and apply it like you are simply trying to put a thin layer of paint on the surfaces. Do not leave any globs. Go against the grain on opposing surfaces. If you go vertical on the slide rails go horizontal on the frame rails.

Brian Enos owns Slide Glide and has it made to his specs.

I used to be part owner in a company that sold lubricants and our white lithium came in big drums from Pennzoil. We'd pump it into little containers and slap fancy labels on it. We made about 900 percent profit per 55-gallon drum.

At one point some black goo that was advertised as "graphite-enhanced" lithium became a big thing. We used a food processor to mix graphite into lithium grease and it was a huge thing for a while.

Brian's stuff - less is more. Use a paint brush.

I don't have a handle on it, but I pay $10 an ounce for it and am glad to be able to get it.

I have been using Tetra grease on the rails of my semi-autos for years without issues. I put a VERY thin layer on. Is this just white lithium grease in fancy packaging also?

I've used Gunslick graphite to lubricate slides and moving parts for more years than I care to count. Its a good product if you want to keep the lube in place. You only use a little bit and a small tube lasts forever.

:D He's a promoter like everyone else trying to make a buck off his name like a long line of other competitive hot-shots....I can list a dozen shooters who've endorsed similar products over the decades.
However, I'm not saying the product is good or bad; just making a reference to his chemistry skills.

Tiny bit of hi-temp grease on the locking lugs, frame rails and top of the barrel where it contacts the slide. I usually clean and lube it with CLP first.
