I was looking at a DAO GP100 in a shop today. Everything looked OK, but I noticed that on 2 or 3 of the cylinders, when you pulled the trigger, the cylinder counter-rotated a tiny bit before starting to rotate in the proper direction.

What causes this? I've never seen this happen on any other revolver...

For some reason the pawl wasn't being pressed against the cylinder's ratchet after the cylinder latch released the cylinder so it could turn. Maybe a kinked or defective pawl plunger spring. It needs to be disassembled and checked out or returned to Ruger for correction.
