I'm looking for a clip to let me quickly attach and detach a sling to some of my milsurps. Specifically, I've got a K31 and I want to be able to quickly detach the sling from the rear sling mount. I'm going to use it for hunting, and the sling being on the left side of the stock gets in the way of a solid cheek weld.

Anyone have any ideas? I'll be using a standard M1907 service sling.

Maybe buy a mil-sup M-14 sling and take the rear clip hook off of it.

Don't know if they will fit a K-31 sling swivel though.

TT, if your swivel is 1.5" wide, the GI sling will fit. I don't know how the front attaches, but if the swivels are the correct width, why not just us the GI sling? Here's a source for new ones from the OEM supplier of the military: http://www.appleseedstore.flyingcart.com/

They also sell 1.5" quick-disconnect aftermarket swivels at most stores that sell guns and ammo. I use this set-up on all my rifles, since I use a sling to shoot with, not just carrying. I leave the sling clips attached to the swivel and disconnect the swivel itself from the rifle.

I should mention that I do this because of the nature of my shooting. I host Appleseed shoots where everyone is on a firing line, and the rifle has to stay "grounded" as everyone walks to check targets. We use a "loop" sling for shooting from prone and sitting positions, so instead of taking the loop off my arm, I disconnect the entire sling with the quick-disconnect swivel - the sling stays adjusted and with me.

Just trying to give you some ideas, since I use a sling often.

Great! If you ever want to learn to shoot accurately with your new sling, I would suggest checking out an Appleseed shoot if you get a chance.

Oh, they also give some good historical facts and history about the birth of our nation. I can guarantee a great weekend of rifle marksmanship, American Heritage, and some of the best like-minded folks you'll ever meet. :)

Good luck with your new rig!
