Sling for my BCI Defense AR?

When I bought my AR, the guy said that these holes in the hand guard can be used to mount a sling. Anybody ever heard of a sling mount like that? See pix. Thanks in advance!

They look like flush cups, but I could be wrong. Never seen em on an AR.

Yeah, I've seen them. They are pretty common these days.

The photo above is what goes in it. Pretty handy since you can easily detach your sling from the front for cleaning, etc. without going through a bunch of drama with the adjustment buckles and all. There may be a rear one on the keeper plate thing on your buffer tube- if there is you will need 2 of those Q-D swivels.

yep, "flush cups" is what they are generally called. i'm a big fan and use them on all my rifles
