sling usage

Looking for instructional books, video on sling usage in NRA high power competition.

Try "You Tube". Go to the M1 Garand vids. Then look for the U.S.Army training vids. They are DRY to be sure, however, they do show the how-to of slings. I'm sure there are others somewhere...these are the only ones I've seen.

Thanks taliv, I think they had just what I am looking for. At 43 I just have to make sure noone catches me reading a instructional pamphlet for junior shooters!

This will get you started with sitting (prone is basically the same, just with a little length added to accomidate the longer position)

Standing is a bit different, highpower competitors generally don't use the sling, but there are a number of practical ways to steady your offhand with one.
