Slings n swivels

I just got a t/c venture. It is used for target shooting and to give me a LR option. Never been hunting, but if the chance ever comes up I got it covered as well.

The rifle comes with swivel mounts. Do all swivels come with the mounting hardware or can I find some better quality ones that are just swivels? I'd like to note the mounts on the rifle are fixed in place.

How much should I expect to spend on swivels that'll last a lifetime?

Opinions on slings? Will most webbed slings be fine for my purpose? What should I look for as far as slings go?

Many rifles come equipped with swivel STUDS installed; the user then must purchase sling swivels (most commonly quick detachable) that are the actual connection between the stud and the sling itself. The two most common sizes for swivels relate to the width of the sling strap material, and are 1" or 1.25".
It is very easy to use one sling with swivels on multiple rifles, simply by disconnecting the swivels from the fixed studs secured in one stock, and replacing the swivels onto the existing studs in another stock.
Good quality swivels in either size are not expensive, and most generally come in a set of two. I paid about $ 9.00 for my last set of Uncle Mike's 1.25" swivels.
I use slings as an aid to shooting, not just as a way to carry a rifle, but they do make carrying much easier and at times safer. There are many styles and materials, from simple carry straps made of nylon or cotton, to more specialized types crafted of fine leather. Prices vary. Look for something that gives comfort for extended carry if going long distances, but also consider a proper sling for good support while firing. I like the Galco Safari Ching sling for stability when shooting, and it is comfortable enough for me when hiking the ranch trails. I have also had good luck with nylon slings and stuff made by The Wilderness.

Those cabelas all have the studs in there, saw those. Seems they are all about the same. Ill prolly start with an uncle mikes sling with the swivels and go for there.

Yea its going to be mostly used for stability while shooting and not much carrying around.

When choosing a sling consider the material carefully as some are rather slick and others tend to grab and grip, be it clothing or skin. Don't be afraid to ask a salesman to mount a few on one of his rifles to test out.

I really like my VTAC for carry and use on an AR but have both military style leather and Vero Vellini slings for most of my traditional rifles. I've always meant to find a Ching Sling to try out due to their rave reviews but somehow manage to overlook them.
