I'm looking to set up a sling on a rifle to improve my stability. There is a setup that involves wrapping your forearm around the sling. I think it's called a Hasty Sling...??

</noob>

Can anyone tell me about this? Or, how do you guys use slings to stabilize your rifles?

Thanks

I'm quite fond of

the old 1907 G.I. style sling. Used them a lot when I was a serious chuck hunter. They come in many qualities, may I suggest Turner....Essex

The USGI cotton M1 web sling works well to steady your hold with the rifle - be absolutely sure it's cotton, they're also made in nylon; the nylon sling will slip off your arm while you're in position, the cotton will not. Another option is the 1907 leather sling, made by folks like Turner, Les Tam, or John Weller.

Here's a link on how to rig up an '07 style leather sling.

And here's a link on how to rig up a cotton web sling.

An important note, if you don't have some type of free float tube on your AR15, slinging up tight can cause POI shifts since you're pulling on the barrel with the sling.
