"Will it shoot?" The Slingshot Channel tests if it possible to use an iPhone as slingshot ammo, and also what happens when a big steel ball, shot from a powerful slingshot, hits an iphone full on the touchpad.

A specifically designed slingshot crossbow is employed to launch what many regard as the best cell phone in the world.

You can see iPhones beeing shot at ballistic gelatin, "Mythbusters style", and also a "long range" shot, demonstrating the accuracy. No iPhone survived the tests, in the end, a "3G" model is fired flat against a house wall. This opened up the device in record time.

A little bonus in the end takes care of several requests for specific gelatin tests...

It ceases to amaze me the different designs you come up with. Loved the end segment.

My wife dropped her new i-phone getting into her car a few weeks ago, dropping it a distance of about 16 inches. It shattered! After doing a little research on the Net, it seems that this is a common problem. So watch out!

Also, I think I may have found slingshot ammo that is much cheaper than i-phones. It's called Taconite, and it's readily available on Ebay. These are little iron balls that fall off railroad cars on their way to the smelters. It makes for cheap plinking ammo.

That's why I chose the Motorola i1 Not bullet-proof, but about as close as you can get in a smartphone (MIL-STD 810F).

janobles, the team was from the Dicovery Channel Canada, they will bring out a piece about me in Daily Planet. In the fall, most likely.
