I just ask this question and got the answer I knew was comming. Try different ones and see what works best. I have a 20 and for what it is worth the most accurate was the lightfields.
I understand the high price of sabots make it tuff to go buy a bunch just to see what works. If someone has a better way please pass it on to me
In my Benelli Nova 12 gauge I have gotten great results with Winchester supreme 3 inch sabots. With a 3x9 scope it is impressive at the 100 yard target, but simply brutal to shoot.
If I could ever find the Hornady SST in 3 inch I would absolutely try those.
All of which are at a premium price. Does anyone ever load their own slugs?
Regular foster slugs will probably not work well. Even if the accuracy is acceptable, your barrel will be leaded badly with just a few shots.
The cheapest workable option is probably the Brenneke KO slug. It's kind of like a foster slug, but it is a harder alloy and will therefore lead the barrel less.
