I'm looking to add a small, concealable 9mm to my small collection. Since I don't shoot the .380 Colt too much any more, I was considering the Bersa Thunder in .380 until I saw the Bersa Thunder 9mm in SS, 13 shots for around $340. Anyone own one of these or have a better suggestion? Thanks, Mike Z

These come to mind...

Kahr CW-9
Kahr PM-9
Kahr MK-9
Kel-Tec P-11
Kel-Tec PF-9
Skyy Industries CPX-1

Or if you've recently won the lottery, there's the Rohrbaugh R-9

The Bersa Thunder 9 Ultracompact is a great pistol. I have 2, a black and a stainless. The black one has over 2k through it with no issues. The stainless has about 750 rnds through it has been perfect as well. I also have a fullsize 9 that has over 1k with no problems either.
One of the UCs is now my carry gun. I highly recommend the Bersa line.
Also check out www.bersatalk.com.

I'm really not in the market, got a P11 Kel Tec, but that 13 round stainless one sure sounds nice. :D Anyone got a picture?

Probably, if I ever get the money ahead, I'm going to get a Smith 3913 some day. That little gun is just plain sexy to look at and it's a nice little compact, flat, totable size. I've been likin' the 3913 for a while now. Thought about getting it originally, but fell for the Kel Tec which has served me well and is a bit more compact. But, I never quite got over wantin' that 3913. :D The Bersa sounds a bit more affordable, though.

For a small 9MM the Rohrbaugh is pretty cool (but $$$ like a previous poster said). It is a LOT smaller than my Glock 26 and 27 and a little smaller than my Kahr MK9. It has its place in my lineup. So do the others. It's worth a look before ya throw down yur $.

Center top is a Glock G26. Center bottom is a Kahr PM9

I owned a Kel-Tec P-11 for a while and it was a great gun. I liked the P-11, but the much smaller, thinner, and lighter Kel-Tec P3AT replaced it as my deep concealment piece. If I was looking for an affordable, reliable, compact 9mm I'd look closely at getting another P-11. As I've said many other times here on THR, based on good experience with the P-11 I'll take a look at the PF-9 when I get back from this deployment.

Not my EDC (that's a SIG 226) but I bought this UC9 on a bit of a whim - just ''because''! I would tho happily let it see carry duty.

Indeed - not as small as some - also not as light but - IMO the feel is altogether solid and functionally a reliable piece. Good value IMO.

If it ain't skinny it ain't compact. Sig and Glock take their fat (but good) guns and chop a little off the barrel and a little off the grip and call them "compact".

Get a Kahr P9.

I haven't seen any at gun shows lately, wonder if they quit making them.

p.s. the PM isn't as indestructable as a Sig or Glock so if you're looking for a "range gun" it might not work for you. The trigger is about like a Glock.

When you need a gun, the best one is the one you have on you.

Tacticool version....

The one I really like the lines of, though, is a girl's version. I just think this is the sexiest thing since Kim Bassinger. If I wear this gun, I'm quite secure in my masculinity. :D

There is the 3913NL version, now, though. Same gun, no "Lady Smith" on the slide. Read the article. The author lauds the accuracy of the weapon, as does anyone I've known that had one. Just a matter of time and I'll find one I can afford.

No polymer guns

I'm trying to stay away from the polymer guns, I just can't get used to the feel.

Them bersas have a pretty darn good trigger, with a quick reset, not bad for an inexpensive gun!:)
