I recently acquired a box of CCI small pistol magnum primers. What I had them in mond for was small-pocket .45ACP, but I was at the bench this afternoon and I got to thinking. :uhoh:

I suddenly have quite a few more small pistol magnum primers than I do of the regular Small Pistol primers. So I was thinking of using the regular ones only for.38SPL, and using the magnum primers not only for .45ACP but in the Python as well.

The load is Berrry's 125gr PFP over 4.7 gr of 231. The Python is 6" barrel, made in 1972, and has not seen heavy use.

I shouldn't have to change that load very much (or at all) to use magnum primers, should I?
