Now I know that I am getting old.......

This stuff may be "cool" (or "bad" or "rad" or whatever the term of the day is), but what is is going to be like should you live to be as old as I am?

My 30 year old son-in-law is already beginnning to regret that Woody Woodpecker tattoo on his calf. That's a tattoo, which is pretty common today. How are you going to feel about your ear lobes when you turn 50 and all of the youngsters look at you like you are some kind of freak?

"Grandpa, just what were you thinking when you were young? Yuck!"

Hey, can you mods sticky this? Cause this definitely is a "creative" post. How many other gun forums have THIS kind of discussion? None, that's how many.
I will be back with pictures just incase

Noooooo hoooo hoooo hooe. That's TOOOO kind of you. Seriously. Don't trouble yourself. We're good. We get the picture.:D

And yeah... you should take into account what Sistema said... you're not gonna want that thing when you're at the local federal building picking up the Sosh Sec check...

I agree

this is a dumb idea. That said, I do rember that not too long ago someone was making reloadable 22 mag case which had a very small primer. You should be able to find those somewhere. I found the one I was looking for and it is the 22CCM (Cooper centerfire mag).

Personal choice, my friends. If he wants to do it, who are you to judge?

I look forward to seeing the pictures. It's certainly not nearly as goofy as some of the other stuff my generation thinks is "cool." :D

Any concerns of infection? Plus, the brass will probably tarnish easily. I'd see if you could find some nickel cases. Or, maybe find a machinist that could make you something similar out of surgical stainless steel.

if i was gonna do it [which i am not] i would have a silversmith make me some.

If you can't find 'em anywhere, I can send you a couple with dead primers and no powder. They'd weigh a hair less and be safer.

my, my, ....my what will your mother say? sounds like some of the stupid stuff from my twenties. anywho.... when you find the right cases, and DEACTIVATE the primer, polish the case real good with brasso and get yourself some clear polyurethane in a spray can to coat them with. they won't tarnish, and probably save an infection or two. good luck.

I got a 458 in my Prince Albert. I figured what the heck, I got the room.

:eek:ROTFLMAO!!! HAHAHA! Am I the only one that got that?! Too funny Joe, too funny.

Seriously though, that's definately a new idea. I think it would look pretty good. My sister stretched her lobes when she was younger but she let them shrink back to normal. I think it's pretty cool.

You know, I generally don't expect to be permanently scarred from reading Rifle Country, but I suppose one should always expect the unexpected. And this thread is about as unexpected as it gets.

If you send me an address, I'll mail you two 5.7x28 cases (fired from a PS90).

I thought about this before I started. My orignal plan was I got my ears pierced (had one done when I was 13ish and so at the beginning of the year I got my other one done) and I wore fake plugs to give the look that I had them really stretched. I wasn't going to go any farther then that but I really liked the look but they were actually a hassel. I don't plan to go any bigger then a 2g which is 6mm. Most people going past 2g is the point of no return where they will not shrink up to look like a normal piercing, everyone is different however.

Ears are funny because they sometimes like to keep growing. My theory on when I am older is, my ears will probably look funny anyways, atleast this way I can put some cool stuff in them. Granted this is only a theory :)

When I get to the point of wearing these, I plan only to wear them everyonce in a while. It's recommended you wait till your ears are fully healed before putting something like this in so infection shouldn't be a big issue. Nickle cases would be preferred over brass though.

guys, stretched earlobes are reversible. If you take whatever thing is in there out, it will shrink back (as long as they aren't stretched really far).

Very true, which is why I'm not planning to go passed 2g

Which casings are you referring to? I'm not planning on keeping the bullet in them, just the casing.

She wasn't completely thrilled at the idea :) She felt better when I said they would shrink up and look pretty normal when I decide to let them. I like the idea of coating them in polyurethane. Thanks for the idea.

I'll send you a couple of 221 Fireball cases if you post a picture of the end product.

I will probably take you both up on the offer. I like the idea of the 5.7, I wans't sure if I would be able to get any of those rounds in the area.

I'm suprised this thread is going on for so long, I'm quite impressed :D

I stand corrected, I forgot where I read that it was rim fire, I think I was getting it confused with another round.

You're probably thinking of the .17 HMR or the .17 Mach 2, both rimfires. Looking forward to the pictures.
