I'm trying to find out what the smallest trail camera is. It seems like most of them use a much bigger box than needed. This makes it easier for people to notice it. I'd love to find one that's TINY, and uses an external battery. It's easier to hide a big battery than a big camera.

What's a trail camera?? External battery? Are you talking about the ones that are remotely fired for taking photos of wildlife?

Yeah, a motion sensing camera for taking pictures of wildlife. Also good for helping ID trespassers.

Hmm. Sorry I don't know anything about the motion sensing ones. go to www.outdoorphotographer.com and look at back issues online , they sometimes feature wildlife shooters who do that kind of stuff and may have equipment lists.

I made some motion triggered radios that played back a digital prerecorded message (location) a few years ago. I was tired of hunting the wrong spot at the wrong time. You could use a similar motion sensor, as a remotely mounted trigger, away from the actual camera (in a more secluded location). Also, the higher you mount the camera the less people will tend to notice it. Some game cameras tend to make a lot of noise when taking a photo and using a flash would obviously be out.
