I found a couple 10-2's at a local gun shop. Both have a total smith work done. Heavy barrels, sight rails, super trigger work. Both are for sale for $429.00 so I am going to buy the nicer one of the two since I bought 3000 rounds of match grade 38spl wadcutters for $80.00. I'll post up info and pics if anyone is interested in seeing them.

IMO that price is too high for a M10-2. As for the trigger, most of the older S&W revolvers have triggers like that. Depending on where you live that price is at minimum $100 too much.

I believe the OP is buying a PPC revolver with "Heavy barrels, sight rails, super trigger work."

That should be worth $429.00 to somebody who wants that sort of gun.

Sniper,

Check the pistol over as carefully as you know how.

Those old PPC guns have almost always had the bejeezuz shot out of them. With all that match ammo it'd be a shame to have a pistol so worn or badly out of time that it won't shoot to point of aim and spits more lead to the sides than goes through the bore.

I've never heard of it, but with the way some folks handle their guns I suppose anythings possible.

Sniper-X: Any chance you there's some more of that match .38 left? Also please pics. I'm actually looking for a PPC revolver locally.

Nothing too special about the M10 aside from being a great shooter. They are very common. The question is where did you get 3,000 rounds of match .38 for $80?

I'm more interested in where you got 3K rounds of wadcutters for 80 bucks. ;)

It was left over from a local reloader who went out of business because he got too old to keep the business going. I may be able to get another couple K rounds as well as I know a guy who bought it. These two 10-2's are PPC guns or at least built into them. I'll take a couple pics and look closely at them. The shop did tell me they would do better on the price. One is DAO as it has a bobbed hammer, the other still has a regular spur. Both are very nicely done.

That sure seems like a lot of $$$, even for a hot rodded M10. Offer $375 and see if you get a bit. Ever look at a M15? Factory heavy barrel, and adjustable sights.

If these are quality PPC guns, they are easily worth the asking price and then some. Just for starters, they have custom barrels and heavy ribs with adjustable sights. The barrel/rib combination often go for $200 alone, and on a machine rest using quality 148 grain midrange cartridges will group all of they're shots into one hole around an inch or less @ 50 yards.

I suspect that a lot of readers don't understand what a PPC gun is - or can do.
