This one has been gnawing at me for a couple of weeks. I overpaid for it today because sometimes that's the only way it's going to happen. It's a no-dash 586 6" in supreme condition. One thing I've learned here at THR is not to let $100 scuttle a deal on a high quality gun I really want, so goodbye $100, hello 586.

She gets shot tomorrow, 10:00 sharp :D

That thing's sweet. Overpaid? If it's a gun you want what's $100.00? You'll get $100.00 worth of enjoyment before you find another one. Good find, Mutt.

The buyer sets the value my friend. If the extra $100.00 is worth it to you that's all that matters. In another week you won't give that 100 bucks a second thought.

The way not to overpay is to look for one that shows signs of use but is in top mechanical condition (including the hole of course). Nice bonus is you can shoot it a lot and not worry about extra wear. The stuff in supreme condition is money pit today especially when boxed
with mop, cleaning rod (made of worthless Al which should never be used to clean rifled bores) and little screwdriver.

Oh yea baby! Nice buy. Forget the $100. You got what you want. I did the same thing almost 2 years ago. So I paid a little extra. I got my 4" 586 no dash, in mint condition. Shoots like a dream.

Put some range time in today with a big box of .38 specials. She was about 3" right of POA, the rear sight was drifted out of center. Couple turns with a screwdriver and she was to POA, just like it should be.

Funny story on this one; when it came to the pawnshop the action was a mess, turns out the spring screw had backed out. They surmised that's why he sold the gun. Anyway, once the screw was re-tightened the action returned to normal.

Gosh, it's been one afternoon at the range and I already don't miss the $100 :)

Hello friends and neighbors // Nice, I wish mine still looked like that!

Then again each scuff and scrape adds character, hope you enjoy shooting it.

Do you know about the recall on the no dash, I have one that needed the work and another that runs fine without the modification.
