This is completely hypothetical and probably unreasonable... But...

Looking at S&W's website today, at the pistol section, there is an option for "10mm" under the Filter tab. Obviously they don't make one...yet.

However, they do make 10mm revolvers, but the Filter tab under revolvers have so many more calibers, so it isn't like they use the same exact options list.

My question is, if they have it on their website as an option, you guys think they are working on something and haven't posted it yet? Anybody hear anything on the rumor mill?

Realistically, it's nothing and they just have two lists: Pistol and Revolver style calibers, but a guy can dream, right?

    Here's to hoping for an M&P 2.0 10mm....

Not based on website options. That's dudes in Bangalore writing code and banging out websites. They have no idea about the products, but if 10mm is in one menu, the option had better exist in the other. "Now, get some more chapattis and another case of Himalaya Dew, we need to knock out the website for something called a 'Beto', bro"

10mm is slowly gaining in popularity, I wouldn't be surprised if Smith didn't offer their M&P in it in the near future. I see it having the potential to fill the void left by the decline of the 40 S&W.

If they released their 5" FDE 2.0 in 10mm that would be my next gun buy.

Not sure exactly why, but I'd be a lot more inclined to believe they would release a 1911 in 10mm than an M&P. Maybe I'm wrong. I'd consider an M&P in 10.

    Love my 1086. Great gun!
They should bring back the entire series since 10mm has become relevent again.

I know it's not an auto but I think their 610 revolver is back in the line up.

If there is going to be an auto I would expect a 1911 version. Don't think we need another one like that but it it likely the easiest way for them to get an auto to market.

Man, their old 10mm autos have gone up in value. From unwanted not long ago to rather pricey.

I listen in to the AOBC quarterly conference calls and during the last one in August, they mentioned that there would be "exciting new firearm products" introduced this fall. They were implying that these items would give a boost to their moribund stock price. They did not give any hints as to what or exactly the timing during "the fall", but maybe there will be a new 10mm. Who knows...

Pretty much everyone says they have "exciting new firearm products" everytime they change sights or finish on a model and call it something else.

    Or another AR...

But! It could be a 5" M&P 10mm Hunter model!

I have a 610 no dash and a 1076 in the safe, but, I would be all over a M&P10mm in a heartbeat!!

Given that the .40 S&W was developed to be a low recoil 10 mm, I can't see wanting a polymer pistol in 10 mm. A steel 1911 would be a more comfortable platform.

Agreed, but other than CZ's, Sig and various 1911's there's not a whole lot of steel framed guns made. A 10mm CZ 97 or steel Sig 227 would be great IMHO.

I'd settle for a neat polymer gun though.

The EAA Witness is a steel frame gun offered in 10mm that is essentially the CZ 97 you mentioned.

I have Glocks and an XDm in 10mm and they shoot great. You don't know what you are missing.

    BTW, I own 4 10mm 1911s, 2 Sig 10mm P220s, and 4 10mm revolvers. I have shot steel 10mms too.

I have one of those. Paradoxically, because I like it so much I’m afraid to shoot it very much.

I also have a frankengun made from a 1076 frame mated to a 1066 upper. I’m not afraid to shoot it because it’s essentially otherwise just a bagful of unrelated spare parts. I jokingly call it the safest handgun I own because it has both the slide mounted safety and the frame mounted decocker.

If S&W made an M&P in 10mm I have little doubt I would end up buying one. To me the M&P is ergonomically what the Glock should have been from the start. My Glock feels like a brick compared to my M&P.

    These guns are tanks!
There's still enough Gen 3 small parts (springs, pins, small stuff) out there to keep it going.
As for the frame, slide and barrel, these are the best built 10mms on the market.
    Shoot it and enjoy it.

I was glad to see Springfield produce a 10mm in the XD line
I'd like to S&W build one also

I know exactly what I'm missing. Pain. A few months ago I rented a Ruger LCR. Five rounds of 158 grain standard pressure .38 Specials were enough. I may buy an LCR some day. It's a great gun. But it will be in .327 magnum and I'll load it with .32 H&R Magnum or even .38 S&W. 158 grain .357s are no fun in my 6" S&W Model 19. I'm thinking about replacing it with a Model 27 for the extra weight.

That's quite a few right there. I think a Colt Delta Elite or a Dan Wesson RZ-10 would do fine.

Maybe they’ll surprise everyone and come out with a 10mm shield...

Then don’t deal with them. Buy the gun and never bother with the distributor. If something ever breaks, fix it.

This is what competitive shooters who use Tanfoglios do. None of them are going back to EAA for anything.
