smith and wesson 19-3 date of manufacture

hello. i have a smith and wesson model 19-3 with a 4 inch barrel. the serial number is 2k67041 and is nickel plated. i would like to when it was manufactured and how many were produced.

it is in 95 to 98 percent condition. no box or papers. how much would it be worth also.

Your Model 19-3 Combat Magnum was manufactured in 1972. Value is from $550 to $650 depending upon condition and location. Numbers made? Unknown, the model 19 shared it's serial range wth several other models that ran into the millions of guns.

You've got a very fine pistol there and it will serve you well for years to come. As Rad stated up to $650.00 but $600.00 is more probable.

So if a M19-3 is valued in the $550 - $650 range, then my M66-5 must be worth $650-$750 and the 66-2 maybe a bit more?

Condition is a critical factor in the value of any gun--moreso in a 30-40 year old gun.

In today's market, a 95% 4" 19 in nickel is probably $400/$425. Remember that means 5% of the finish is missing. Are you evaluating it correctly (pictures help in these situations). Also this assumes original grips in matching condition; need to adjust if different.

Gamestalker, a 66-5, apples to apples, would be worth less than a nickel 19 (scarcity, finsih, etc.). A 66-2 worth more than a 66-5 (quality of construction, age, features). Condition, grips, etc., matter and can make a big difference.
