Anyone have any experience with this model? It seems that with full moon clips and the low pressure .45acp it would make for a nice snub nosed revolver for concealed carry.

I wish I had the money to have some experience with it!! It does seem like a very good choice for ccw.

This is a .45-caliber sixgun, right? Some people demand a nice flat gun for concealed carry, seeing as that some will sacrifice the sixth round of .38 Special (in, say an SP101 or some of the S&Ws). (To say nothing of those strange folks who carry that newfangled style of pistol that Messrs. Browning and Mauser invented. Me, I'd no sooner shoot one than ride in a horseless carriage!) So moving to a bigger cartridge and a bigger capacity is going to make a much fatter cylinder.

Someone who has carried a 6x.45 concealed: how did you feel about the bulk? What is the best position & holster to minimize "fat gun blues"? I am enamored of the S&W 625 (which I think is about the same width as the model under discussion) so I am curious if there would be much of a chance to carry concealed. I guess it will probably boil down to how often I wear a baggy overcoat or a huge serape. :)

What is the "3" for? Scandium frame or aluminum or something else? PD means it is a shorty? Or did I get that *&^*^&!!! backwards?

I have a S&W Model 325PD (2.5").
I bought it used (excellent-like new) and it's the best $408 (total price out the door) I ever spent for a revolver.

I carry it in a Galco High-Ride OWB holster. Mostly open carry when I go hiking and occasionally concealed with a cover shirt.
It's light weight (scadium frame, steel barrel, titanium cylinder) makes it easy to carry.

However, due to it's short barrel and light wieght, felt recoil is stout. Harsh enough to get your attention and after 2-3 loads of +P ammo, I put it away and shoot something with a softer felt recoil like a compact Glock in .45.

I've shot .45AutoRim, .45GAP and .45ACP through it.
I've noticed that due to the shorter OAL of the .45GAP, reload time is faster when using .45GAP then with .45ACP.

The S&W Model 325PD has been discontinued and was replaced by the S&W Model 325NG Night Guard.

Last year at an IDPA match a fellow shooter used a S&W325 with factory ammo. The shooter had a fairly stout build ansd seemed to control it well. I shot a few rounds and it would be not my choice for a competition gun. It would be tolerable in a defensive situation much as would a S&W642.

I carry mine almost daily. For carry it is loaded with Corbon 160 DPX with Corbon 160 AR in tuff strips for reloads. With standard loads it shoots very nice, with my 45 Super loads it is very abusive to the hand.
