I have a S&W 5906 with the high profile adjustable sights and was wondering if these can be changed to the Novak Lo profile sights. I just think the high profile tends to distract me.

The least expensive way is to find a used slide with the Novaks already on there (Gunbroker, AuctionArms, etc). 
Most expensive will be to have your slide welded up and remachined for the Novaks. The Novaks require a totally different cut at the slide rear and there's not enough material there on the adjustable sight model to accomodate.
