Smith Colt Smith Colt Smith Colt Part 2:

My old Python is smooth, but pops paid $150 bucks way back for the Colt Custom Shop to slick it up.
Been tempted to get a new model 4" for a do all rig.
But don't think a 6" is too heavy. In fact i think its actually light.
4" is easier when getting in and out of vehicles

Ive had four Smith 629s.
None now..... as I don't shoot as much/hunt less.

Liked em a lot, just don't need one and think prices now are a bit silly.

Too smooth may be a problem but can be fixed easily.
I bought a Colt Diamondback with a smooth almost too easy hammer cock, when released, gravity was as strong as the
hammer drop. I got the Diamondback cheap and had the backbone replaced in about 3 weeks.
Colt parts were hard to get back then, I got lucky, don't know about today's supplies.
Love the Trooper best.
I skipped on the Trooper for the Detective Special. I was a bit cash over extended and let it free, It sold the next day. Oooh well.

I do like the New Colt 3” Python!

Hey, Mark_Mark, does your favorite pusher ever
get in used .357 Ruger GP100s, be they 4-inch with
adjustable sights or 3-inch with fixed sights?

he has a SP101 and a Security 6, right now. They get a handful of New guns but mostly broker consignment. Stackum deep & sells them cheap

I am looking for a Ruger GP100 Match at my other shops.

I have Match Champion and standard GP100, not really much difference in
their smoothness. Champion does have half lug barrel. But I think you'd be
just as happy with standard if you see one and usually much cheaper. But I
do like the MC Hogue wood stocks. My standard has Hogue rubber that
mimicks the Champion stocks, i.e. no finger grooves.
