The gun was $377 from Davidson's. Ended up about $400 out the door. Not an outstanding deal, but I felt ok about it. Problem was that nobody carried the 3 inch GP100s in my area. I'm happy with my purchase. Now I'm itching to take it out over the weekend.

By the way, do you mind letting us know just how affordable the short lug one is from Davidson's?

Hey Xring - I finally got the scoop. The price you see on Davidson's is NOT davidson's price. I spent a while on the phone with the Davidson's salesman getting 'schooled' on how this works. If Davidson's has 10 KGPF-330's left (short shroud 3"ers), any dealer in the country may opt to pay Davidson's to advertise their 'stake' on any of the remaining stock. What you see is the retail price of 'Joe Blows Guns" out of Littletown Idaho.......NOT by Davidsons! Davidsons sells for the SAME price to whatever dealer inquires. In this case, the KGPF-330 is going at about $325 or so. MY dealer was up front and honest by telling me his mark up, taxes, fees, background checks, or whatever. It boiled down to about $388 OTD. "Joe Blows Guns" will buy the same $325 firearm from Davidsons and put it in his counter display for $525! Davidson's sells for the same price EVERY TIME - BUT ONLY to a dealer. You've gotta work out the final price with your FFL.

I don't have it on me here....But tomorrow when I get to work, I'll post the exact name and 1-800# of the salesman I dealt with. You only have to tell them the mfg and model# and they'll tell you if it's in stock ( DON'T TRUST THE DAVIDSON'S INVENTORY SEARCH! ) You've gotta speak with a human to get the skinny on inventory.

That's how I got mine ( just gotta pick it up ). ANd then I'll give 'er a DHart makeover! :p

I used the gun locator feature on Davidson's. You give them your zip, pick out what you want, and they give you the prices for the nearest three dealers. The model I bought was listed in the inventory and $500 and something (I want to say $580 - which is positively outlandish in my area you'd have to have your head examined). You pay your 1/3 down by cc and then pickup the gun at the dealer, fill out the forms, and pay out the remaining charges. I've done this a couple of times with satisfactory results.

Thanks for all the info. I use a private dealer who's profit is 99% derived from transfers only. I find a good price for something I want, arrange payment and FFL info, pay my 15 bucks and I'm out the door. Davidson's sound like it could be convenient for alot of folks if they don't want to go to a shop, or have a convenient arrangement set up with someone. My 2nd blue GP shipped today. Can't wait.
Randy
