SMK or SGM for long range 308 shooting?

i was looking at changing up my load for my 308, i want something heavyer than the 168gr but i want ot be able to shoot for groups with my buddys and go out and hunt wit hthe same load. When i looked at the numbers the 180gr SGK had better everything than the 175gr SMK, plus it would be more leathal on impact. is the SGK as accurate? thanks for the help i want to shoot tagets out to 800 and hunt from 300-500 with the same load . thanks for the help

What kind of game?

Pretty sure Sierra mentions not to use their round as a hunting round. Berger 175gr VLD's may be an option depending on game.

My choice for a combination target/game bullet would be the Hornady 178gr
Amax bullet.

thanks, how well do the A max work for you USSR? are they good enough to kill a deer humanly at longer ranges?

All I can tell you is it is a match grade bullet of ballistic tip design that has a good reputation on deer sized game.
