I’d use RCBS shot capsules, if available. They have larger shot capacities

Yes they do, and work well, but back when I was shooting a lot of them I was too cheap/poor to pay bullet prices for plastic capsules.

Note, I have Pat Marlin’s aluminum gas check dies so the gas checks are cheap as dirt.

I’ve limited of tried to make critter gun/cartridge for use when bushhoghing the pastures. The concept seem vialble in result, it is not sustanable. It takes too long to draw the pistol and aim at the target. And even then the target is out of effective range when you figure the height of the shooter sitting on the tractor.

Anyway, as a kit gun for short range use, the Bond Arms derringer should work well for less than animated targets.

Leather punch and a block of wood works well for making over/under shot cards. I have used hull plastic quite a bit.



I prefer the clear plastic from discarded packaging though, I can see what’s in there vs having to write everything down.



And if I can, wads give a much better pattern.
