Snap Caps and my M1A

Is it cool to "dry fire" with snap caps in my M1A since it uses a "floating" pin. Ive never had experience with snap caps before. This is probably a stupid question, but then I remember my mother always telling me the only stupid question is the question not asked.

Use your snap caps as much as you like. Not hurting a thing.

They're fine. You don't have to have them though. I prefer to use a dryfire device. It allows the hammer to fall only a fraction of an inch and you only have to pull the oprod a smidge to reset it.

I painted mine bright orange so it's obvious at a glance that the rifle is safe to snap.
