He was hearing every step you were taking up until that truck came down the road. He knew where you were at and he was trying to decide when to run. An older buck would have been gone when he first heard you walking. Great video.

What a letdown !! Nice body on that buck...I wish we could shoot some that size here, but we have antler restrictions that won't allow it.

ya he saw us stop on that road and was watching me the entire way down the hill. So i cut into some pines and didn't come back out until the bush was between us.

You right in that he knew where I was but he let me get close enough. 1 more minute and I would have had an arrow in the air.

I'm also guessing you were down wind as well. It looked like he was trying to figure out what you were, but obviously didn't smell you.

At the one minute mark on the tape, there is another buck about 70 yards to your right up against the treeline.
That's a good place if not for all the noise.

i was watching the video and noticed another buck. when im in the frame you can see his head and antlers moving in the top right by the pines, can you find him?
