Our "friends" at Bloomberg-paid-for Everytown just released a searchable database of every US FFL (or they allege it's 100%).

While this is troubling, as nefarious types might use the location data to plan for break-ins--that would require that hoodlums, a social cohort not generally known for putting extra effort in, would go to the trouble. Other Bad Actors . . . only time will tell.

But, I see a potential unexpected outcome here--the various gun boards now have a searchable database, by State, to locate FFL for transfers :)

A much better, and more concise reporting:

Seems to be just current FFLs. I looked at my area, and I'm not listed. (Thanks God.) It does show a lot of kitchen FFLs though. Some have business names, but most don't.

Dear Everytown organization,

I really appreciate the effort and thought put into the FFL database. I hope you would consider the following improvements.

1. showing business hours
2. cost to do transfers
3. if business includes gunsmithing

I will be checking often to see how this new tool evolves.

''lookie what i fixed!'' as little Ralphie smiled &stared at his latest kitchen exploration, MASHED POTATOES:p.

Gold star beside your name , Ralphie. A round of applause for our Ralphie ! (teacher starts, clap clap , clapping sounds) .

Next stop, Michelin ratings...

It’s probably meant to be a scare and divide tactic. Now every FFL can be suspicious of every person who walks in the door, wondering if they’re an anti/activist using the new tool. Seems to be the way of activists. They want us to all be suspicious of each other’s politics, racism, vaxism, maskism, russiaism, etc. Now Gun shops can be more suspicious of customers. :scrutiny:

This is a hostile action and no good will come from it. If somebody wants to be taken seriously....Take note, this ain't it. They need to post THEIR address's and phone numbers .......if they are serious.

I wouldn't call BATFE's spreadsheet you can sort "unwieldy" unless you have no experience with spreadsheets, but the Evertown map is some ways a hadier user interface.
Many people are unfamiliar with working with spreadsheets. Many people. Especially "kids these days" who can only type using their thumbs.

Last time when the antis burned cities and hit cops on the head with bricks, the scared antis had trouble finding FFLs after online shopping for their guns. Now they have a resource for the next city burning riot.(that they will cause)
Seattle Here! it’s was true

So many antis were buying guns when the cops decided not to show up to the BBQ! could not find a pump shotgun to save your life.

Looked all through PA, and no 03s. That's a bit of silver lining.
As stated above, it would be nice to publish the personal/professional info of all Everytown members and officers.

I like it …turnabout is fair play, right? If all Everytown donors or employees were doxxed they might think twice about using this tactic in the future.

Why? What would people like you and I do with that information? Nothing. I'm sure not going to show up at someone's house with an AR15 and a protest sign. I'm not a fan of intimidation/doxing tactics.

While I find the database unnecessary, and an attempt at intimidation, it doesn't worry me from a theft standpoint.

I imagine that criminals will continue to get the vast majority of their guns by breaking into cars, where many people leave them. It happens every single day in this city, heck, even the brand new police chief had her duty gun stolen from her car.

Many days when you check the news here the story is that 30 to 80 cars were broken into in a single lot. They just hit em and go, taking everything they can, and many times they find guns. It's what keeps them coming back for more.

I think the worst thing about that video was having to watch and listen to that lady. Ugh.
