Same here now in new old house in a different city. We never use the front door except to go get the mail. Most of the time, my dog will growl and bark and run to the door, but not always; and since I do not have the deep covered screened porch like my old house, not only is any pkg exposed to eyes but also to the elements.

In my old city, they would ring the bell and walk away. I would leave my garage door up sometimes and he would bring things into the garage and knock on that back door. Was nice when the pkg was heavy with bullets or ammo

You might want to rethink leaving the garage door up. Not very good security. I have a outfoor motion sensor that activates a chime through out the house when anyone approaches the front door or porch.

My neighborhood at that time was basically older retired folks - ALWAYS eyes and ears ; I was home most of the time. A few times the door was up all night, nothing ever stolen, not even the bikes. A lot depends on where you live

during normal times....and the caracal recalls......I had a caracal in the recall....sent in.....one day I get home from long day at work and FedEx left a package on my door step. I open it and it's a new caracal from the recall. I dug in as this was very dangerous.....I had visions of neighborhood kids watching movies finding it and harming themselves or others. thank God that didnt happen.

long story shorter.....it was signed by the independent fedex driver who scribbled a name himself. guess he thouht he was doing me a favor? guess he didnt think what it could be and wasnt trained well and/or didnt care? who knows. fedex said theyd handle it, when I complained. never heard a word back on it.

just glad nothing bad happened.
