I have now owned 5 different Taurus pistol, trying to give them the benefit of teh doubt. 4 of the 5 have been horrible pieces of CRAP and I will never own one again. Utter piles of garbage.
But I tried, I really did, I gave them 5 times and that was 4 times too many. The first Taurus I owned was one of their 92 clones. It worked fine for the first 100 rounds. Then it started stove piping and failing to eject and even worse, double feeds. Sold it at a loss. Then there was the PT Millennium in .45. Again worked fine for the first 100 or so rounds and then started having the same issues. Double feeds, FTF, FTE, and so on. I traded it for a 4 wheeler. Finally I bought a NIB 740 slim that the extractor broke within 50 rounds. I bought it because I had heard that Taurus had fixed the issues they were having and were now a stand up company. They refused to have anything but me send them the gun and to pay for it to be done. Sold it for a loss. Then I got a Taurus TCP. I like the trigger and definitely like that it had a last round hold open when the others didn't. Plus I couldn't pass it up at the price it was at the time. And I loved it. It shot beautifully, it was accurate and it went everywhere with me. I regret trading it off but I really wanted an SKS and it was a straight trade. SO today I find another TCP at a local pawn shop for 199.99. He says he will do 200 OTD and it goes home with me. I figured that since the Former TCP was such a great deal I had to have another one.
Took it to the range... and got 3 rounds in before the gun locked up, with a loaded round. I couldn't budge the dang thing. It was just locked shut with the hammer down. Range officer came over and inspected it and somehow with some magic was able to get it open and remove the live round. There gunsmith came out and looked at it, said everything looked good. Then he put 6 rounds into the mag and again at the 3rd round it locked up. They were able to get the live round out but the gun is still locked up and won't budge at all.
UTTER PILES OF GARBAGE. NEVER again Taurus, I should have quit at the Millenium
