So I emailed Gunbroker about "nursebell" the powder queen....

I looked at "Nursebell's" auctions and none of them have bids. And how do you know that they aren't paying the hazmat fee themselves sort of like a free shipping "deal". They also could be a gun shop and put their shipments up on gunbroker because it earns them more money than in their store.

Isnt that Powder Valley and Natchez are for?
They're for whomever wants powder and primers.

Same as the local gun shop or Cabelas. Product, freely sold to whomever is standing ready with enough cash when there's stock on hand to sell.

I think what really irks people is the calls (and yours isn't the only one) for "THE MAN" to come in and lay down the law on someone -- just to make it so you can get what you want, when you want to get it, and at a price you think it should cost. Those who believe in a free market say that's not a healthy way for society and the market to work. Life can be frustrating and it can take work and money to acquire the things you want, but it's a bit unseemly to call in the authorities on someone to further your own desires.

So if Gunbroker were to stop the selling of powder, what makes you think people wont just buy it from Powder valley and flip it???

Just about any gun board or facebook or whatever has a place you can sell stuff, why stop with Gunbroker, why not just end ALL online places from allowing gunpowder sales??

Why single out gunbroker, who by the way doesn't set prices, or tell buyers how much to bid or sellers how much to sell for??

Of course I am being facetious, I think the whole idea is just ludicrous

I have been seeing stuff like that for a considerable time, long before The Panic.
I think that a lot of shooters have a bit of Socialist leaning and object to somebody making "too much profit" on their wares.

Reminds me of another fellow with an equally interesting take on such things.

Several years ago on another gun forum an obviously incensed guy posted about an experience that he had had at a local gunshow.

He saw a guy walking around with an (IIRC) SVT-40 on his shoulder with a pricetag attached. He didn't have that much money on-hand, so, without even talking to the gun owner, he left the gunshow, found an ATM and withdrew enough cash to pay the asking price for the SVT-40.

When he got back to the gunshow, he discovered that the SVT-40 had been sold to someone else. He found the new owner and offered him the same money that the new owner had just paid for the rifle.

The new owner asked a higher price to consider parting with his new rifle.

This OUTRAGED the poster. He thought it horribly unfair for that guy to demand a higher price.

Alright. Ive made up my mind.. Im going Monday to get the 2 kegs of varget and 1 #8 of H335 and putting them online and letting them rip.. Should be enough profit to pick up a new M&P .40....

theslasher, do yourself a favor and Chill. :)

Life is tough enough without getting so worked up about such minor silliness ... yes, the flipping of propellant falls in the category of Small Stuff ... really.

It probably won't be too long before we will be able to, once again, easily source this stuff.

Now you're thinking.

Just make sure you ship it properly. Otherwise some malcontent might report you to Gunbroker.

Wow, I got to this thread late but I did bring the popcorn.

I'm glad to hear you are going to sell instead of cry. I know the current environment in America is anti-capitalist but this is America and everyone has a right to make a legal living. Don't let anyone fool you, making as much money as you can (legally) is a good thing...

Don't ever turn anyone in to the government, no one likes a rat because you may rat on me next!!!

Off topic for the reloading forum. Not sure it is on topic for THR at all.
