...up for sale over on Gunbroker.com @ http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=80954461. I had intended on keeping it for a while longer, at least through this squirrel season, but I can use the cash for something else I have in my sights right now. The only reason I finally decided to sell it was because after having it for several years, and being unable to find an original magazines for it, I was flummoxed. I have a couple of aftermarket mags, and they work okay sometimes and at other times they jam. I had a very competent gunsmith take a look at it, in fact two gunsmiths looked at it. Both said the same thing about the jams, get an original mag to solve the problem. After a couple of years of searching for one, I gave up. Now when I am selling it, one of the bidders sends me an email to tell me he has 2 original mags for $15 each plus $3 shipping; and I think the gist is that if he does not win the auction, he wants me to let the winner know about the mags for sale. Just my luck, the mags show up as available right after I get some bids on the rifle!:cuss:

Well anyway, I guess I am going to get somewhat more than I paid for it, even with the price of the two after market mags, with which I am selling it, is added on. It was fun while I had it, would have been more fun if I also had the original mags, and now will help pay for something else that will be fun.

All the best,
Glenn B

yeah, it has been recrowned, but it does look like a good job, or it is another bbl alltogether. it should also have front and rear sites, if it does not have the holes/spaces for them, this is proly another bbl.
now I am not sure, if that receiver is steel or not, do you know? or , if you look at the receiver from the side, does the back of the receiver look cut squared off, or is it rounded off in the back, like all new marlins? you should also be able to look inside the receiver, and tell if it is aluminum, or steel just by looking at it, and comparing it to all the action parts, as they are all steel.
Steel actions are more valuable, but if this has a diff bbl on it, then value really wouldn't matter anyway.

It has the platform for the rear sight, it can be seen in the pics under the foreend of the scope. I think it was an original barrel that was probably damaged in some way, then recrowned. I don't remember if the receiver is alloy or steel, I'll have to take a look. All in all, I am sorry to part with it, especially now that I see someone had original mags for it!
