Part of my intent with this post was to encourage younger (gadget oriented) shooters, or those new to the AR 15 bandwagon, to spend some time with the irons. I think many would be surprised how accurate, simple, and fun they are.
What I've noticed, for the most part, is an overall stagnation in the improvement
of AR barrel accuracy, since the advent of the Colt HBAR barrel. There's lighter,
shorter, stylish, etc, and perhaps in some cases , overall better, just not more accurate.
I remember those horrible Colt sear blocks. Can't they be driven out via arbor press (with attachment)? Of course, the lower should be fully supported to prevent it from warping (or worse, breaking).
